Workshop Description
Most practitioners are familiar with standard CBT, which offers a variety of helpful tools and techniques for treating a number of what used to be classified as “axis I” disorders. These protocols manage symptoms well and sufficiently treat many individuals with mild to moderate impairment.
However few clinicians are well versed in doing the deeper schema level work that is necessary for treating individuals with more challenging conditions in a way that prevents relapse and creates changes that last.
Schema-focused approaches augment standard CBT protocols with deeper level work to prevent relapse by emphasizing identifying and changing lifelong patterns. SFCBT also utilizes the therapeutic relationship in a powerful way to leverage deeper level change, making it particularly well suited for complex, resistant clients with entrenched, chronic psychological challenges. In this way, it offers a refreshing hybrid between dynamic, insight-oriented approaches and evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy.
Join internationally known and three-time bestselling author Jeff Riggenbach , PHD in this highly engaging live stream and learn new tools for treating your most challenging client symptoms sets including:
